Oh, there are too many reasons to go into them all here. The one I want to explore today, though, isn’t about health or wellness or tradition. It’s about life. It’s about the undeniable truth that all life comes from death. Many turn to veganism in an attempt to “do no harm.” A lovely, poetic, beautiful idea. Those who embrace it through veganism want their life to be from that which is freely given; they don’t want to know, deep down, that their own place in this world came at the cost of another sacred life.

You see, soil is first and foremost alive. It is not just dirt or dust. It is teeming with thousands upon thousands of tiny creatures. Indeed, one tablespoon of soil contains millions of tiny organisms hailing from thousands of different species of animal. And that living soil feeds on death. It takes death and from it feeds the fruits and vegetables in your garden, the grasses that feed your cow, the bugs that feed your laying hens. It takes death and makes life. It is the Resurrection written into the tiniest, yet arguably most essential, detail of our daily existence.

Occasionally, even experienced Wikipedians lose their heads and devote every waking moment to edit warring over the most trivial thing, wasting time debating topics of no practical value , or wrestling over questions whose answers hold no practical consequence. This page documents our lamest examples. It isn''''''''''''''''t comprehensive or authoritative, but it serves as a showcase of situations where people lose sight of the big picture and obsessively expend huge amounts of energy fighting over something that, in the end, isn''''''''''''''''t really so important.

In modern times, physical combat has been outlawed and replaced by the careful inciting of personal attacks , strategic 3RR templating and canvassing , timely notices on WP:AN/I , and (in some cases) marking the changes as a minor edit. Truly, the revolutionary Wikipedia outlook has changed the way things get done. It has changed them from actually getting done to never getting done. On the other hand, nobody gets dispatched (so far!).

[Editor’s Note: This is just one of thirteen essays in our newly-released collection of first-hand reports about the reality of race,  Face to Face with Race.]

I am a public defender in a large southern metropolitan area. Fewer than ten percent of the people in the area I serve are black but over 90 percent of my clients are black. The remaining ten percent are mainly Hispanics but there are a few whites.

I guess it should come as no surprise that Vox is totally down with that observation because ”experts.” It’s hilarious to me how Vox castigates legitimate experts who point out that his beliefs are nonsense, but says this about people who support his beliefs, like Dr. Ted Noel, an anesthesiologist who has concluded through a fair amount of contortions of logic, that Hillary Clinton “probably” has Parkinson’s disease :

That is the conclusion of a a board-certified Anesthesiologist with 36 years of experience, backed up by the observations of a) a victim of Parkinson’s Disease and b) a registered nurse who cares for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.

Yes. I suggest visiting the financial aid office or contacting your local Community College or University and see what you can do. You want to fill out the FASFA form online and search for grants. Take advantage of the time.

Except for athletic recruits, colleges never disclose why they admitted a particular student. However, a student who has mediocre grades and board scores and is not an athlete, a legacy or a child or grandchild of a multimillionaire donor, could conclude that admission resulted from the essay unless there s reason to believe that it resulted from letters of recommendation.
