That depends on what sort of essay it is. Is it argumentative, analytical, comparative or opinion-based? Do you have to prove something by your essay -- such as the little girl s relationship with her father? Or are you supposed to examine the subtext of the piece? First start by determining what your thesis is -- that is, what you have to say about the piece of writing. For example, "Through the little girl s careful scrutiny of her father as he is preparing a meal, it is clear that she is (fill in the blank)". Make your arguments to prove your point; make use of how the child is phrasing her sentences (if there is anything about them that stands out and supports your opinion), how she addresses her father, or her reaction when she is surprised in the end. Good luck with your essay.

I have been there many times, it sucks. The best thing to do would be to look for summaries online and just read them and bs the essay. This is probably your only option to getting a decent grade.

The essay s actually graded out of 6. If you forgot the authors names, you shouldn t lose too much. The highest you could probably get is now 5.
