    You already have the topic -- the book Saint Maybe. You could do one of three things: 1. Reread your assignment to know what the teacher wants. 2. Read the chapter in your textbooks that describes "literary criticism." 3. Research online what "literary criticism" is. One thing not working? Guessing or getting others to guess for you.

    Are you doing your own criticism? It s quite difficult to write an effective criticism of a criticism. You are vague on what you re doing. Have you worked out your own ideas on theme and whatnot? In writing a literary critique I always use The Norton Anthology of Critical Theory-- it s a godsend.
