One of the most pressing environmental issues today is the conservation of biodiversity. Many factors threaten the world''''''''s biological heritage. The challenge is for nations, government agencies, organisations and individuals to protect and enhance biological diversity, while continuing to meet people''''''''s needs for natural resources.

This challenge exists from local to global scales. If not met, future generations will live in a biologically impoverished world and perhaps one that is less capable of producing desired resources as well.

Welcome to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’ Association, “The voice of Law Enforcement in South Carolina since 1941.” It is an honor to serve as President of this prestigious law enforcement organization and I commit to you my best efforts.

The expectations for and scrutiny of law enforcement has never been higher. As I approach my 40 th year in law enforcement in South Carolina, I have witnessed great advances made in our chosen profession as well as increasing demands placed on our officers. This past year has been a tremendously challenging year for our profession both here at home and nationally. The stresses and dangers for each man and woman who puts on the badge can be overwhelming.

A good start but kind of short. Don t leave out green house gas emissions from factories ,cars, small gas engine, etc. be specific about what the countries of the world are and are not doing to solve the problem. Was the first paragraph repeated on purpose? It s starting to look good but needs more substance.

Look up George Silk.a founding member of the Life magazine team, and an OUTSTANDING wildlife photographer. Try to find his shot of either the eagle picking up the rabbit, or the one where he had his Hasselblad submerged in a stream, to get both the trout in the water, as well as, I think, a deer drinking. He was also a great Olympics photographer. I had the chance to interview him on the phone in 2001, for my paper, but he was not in the best of health, having suffered a skull fracture. Last I heard, he was in CT.
