The thing to remember here is that ETS (the company that writes the test) is not asking you for your opinion on a topic or a text. So be sure to maintain formal style and an objective tone. Tip: Avoid “I” and “you.
Handwriting is becoming a lost art. Unfortunately, this is one occasion where your skill with a pencil matters. Graders read tons of essays each day. If they cannot decipher your script, they will lower your score. Do yourself a favor and write legibly.
The SAT ( / ɛ s eɪ t i / ; es- AY -tee ) is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. Introduced in 1926, its name and scoring have changed several times; originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test , it was later called the Scholastic Assessment Test , then the SAT I: Reasoning Test , then the SAT Reasoning Test , and now, simply the SAT.
The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors. The College Board states that the SAT measures literacy and writing skills that are needed for academic success in college. They state that the SAT assesses how well the test takers analyze and solve problems—skills they learned in school that they will need in college. However, the test is administered under a tight time limit (speeded) to help produce a range of scores.

No, there s like 5 different versions. It s probably different for the 1/24 SAT. But I do wonder whether a person in Hawaii could cheat on it due to the time zone difference.
Don t shy from writing from your personal experience. The best writing comes from what you know and what s close to your heart.
You need to remember that on SAT essays you have literally no time to think. So the best way to practice is to time yourself as you would do during the real SAT (25 min). I ll give you some tips (not to brag, but I did very well on my SAT essays, so I know my tips work). The first thing I would suggest, is to come prepared. What I did, was I picked two books, and two examples from history which I decided I would write about. The books I chose were Pride and Prejudice and Faust, because they are well known and have a lot of moral themes. The SAT questions are usually about morals or choices, etc. For my history examples, I chose a more current event and a more historical event. For my current event I chose US relations with Saudi Arabia, and the Mali Empire as my more historical event. Both times I took the test, I was able to use two of the four topics in my essay. When you first begin don t read the quotations above the question unless you get stuck. You should do is read the assignment and actual question first and see if you can answer it. I think that the quotations are a little pointless and waste valuable time. When you are writing I would organize your essay into four paragraphs. A short (2 sentence) introduction, two long body paragraphs, and a short conclusion. Try to fill up all the avaliable space when you write because it gives off a better impression. The other thing I recommend is using a lot of big vocabulary words, just make sure you use them correctly. One of the big differences between essays with a score of 12 and those with a score of 10 is the vocabulary. Now, for your question. Romeo and Juliet is a perfect example. But be careful to argue in your essay, don t summarize. I would also choose another example as I would find it hard to write the whole thing on one topic. Look at what you are studying in history right now, and hopefully you can find something you know well. If I got this question with the books and history events I prepared, I would have chosen to write about Faust and Saudi Arabia. Good luck, practice writing in the time limit, and pick out some good sources.
