Research papers on the occupy wall street movement can be custom written from many different perspectives. The movement can be compared and contrasted in a research paper or looked at as a political movement in an essay. Paper Masters can custom write any project for you.

The Occupy Wall Street movement was a protest that began on September 17, 2011, in New York City’s Zucotti Park, located in the heart of that city’s financial district. Occupy Wall Street sought to highlight numerous economic and social inequalities in American society , including greed, corruption, and the influence that large business have on the federal government.

In the cattle-market chatter about Occupy Wall Street, a whisper can be heard: that of the intellectuals. But far from throwing themselves into the fray, they’re tentatively poking at it with a long stick. While assorted commentators – ranging from musicians and actors, to writers and activists – are weighing in, intellectuals, at least the heavyweights, have been making only murmurs.

Granted, Noam Chomsky has spoken at length about the historical context of the movement and the Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek has drawn parallels between OWS and his reading of psychoanalysis. Political philosophers Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri have analyzed the organizational structure of the movement, and literary theorist Judith Butler has made some few initial observations. All starting points, to be sure, but still only the seeds of a conversation.

In which country do you have citizenship? U.K Are you currently employed? retired What is your highest level of education? degrees 2:1 and 1:1 What are your feelings towards education in ‘the West’? It needs to be less state run. Do you vote? (Please explain your answer) No I am an anarchist. Whoever you vote for the government gets in How would you describe your political beliefs? see above How do you identify yourself religiously? Do you have the same religious beliefs of your family? No I was never asked to believe so am atheist as I was born. Do you read regularly? If so, what/who do you read? yes everything I can lay my hands on. What is your attitude towards drug law reform? doesnt really affect me so I dont have an attitude. What type of music do you listen to? Anything except easy listenign and new age jazz What is your opinion of the current foreign policy of the United States? Quite helpful at the moment. Briefly describe your opinion of the State of Israel. A historic mistake which could have been foreseen by the troubles of plantation in Ulster. Do you fear the impending impact climate change is projected to have on the world’s crops? No because I am too old to be bothered by fear of the future. Describe your feelings on the state of sex and society. (sex in advertising, gov’t policy on same-sex marriage, glorification of sex in youth media, etc.) Too much enough! Describe your opinion of U.S. President Barack Obama. I doubt that any president would have an easier ride the economic mistakes have derailed everyones expectations - I like that he is trying to get healthcare for the poor. Describe your opinion of the ‘occupy wall street’ and similar movements. Great that people are at last catching themselves on to capitalism and all its naughtinesses. I support any movement that challenges authoritarian power to screw us down without a second thought. Now its out that bankers police politicians and the media are corrupt and in each others pocket s we dont need to give respect out to them any more.

Occupy Wall Street has already won, perhaps not the victory most of its participants want, but a momentous victory nonetheless. It has already altered our political debate, changed the agenda, shifted the discussion in newspapers, on cable TV, and even around the water cooler. And that is wonderful.

Surely, you might say, other factors have contributed: A convergence of horrifying economic data has crystallized the public’s underlying anxiety. Data show that median family income declined by 6.7 percent over the past two years, the unemployment rate is stuck at 9.1 percent in the October report (16.5 percent if you look at the more meaningful U6 number ), and 46.2 million Americans are living in poverty the most in more than 50 years. Certainly, those data help make Occupy Wall Street’s case.

@ Hatmanone - I have to disagree w/ you, my friend. In theory, what you said makes perfect sense. But we re talking about stoners here; their terrible memory won t allow them to remember Ben & Jerry s endorsement. They ll be loading up on Bryers by the cart before you know it! Oh, that blog is only 3 days old and that s what maybe inspired you to ask. Dr. Krugman is too busy and cautious to suggest any reasons. I think that 1%-99% logic is wrong and feel ( cruelly) that shows why they are 99% - simply by less capacity to handle complications. I could have been one of them, not that i belong to 1%. (i)Federal Gov. spends 866b on healthcare, 805b on pensions, 431b on welfare ( 2012 budget) of the total spending of 3728b. i.e. 23% + 22.5%+ 11.5% = 57% of spending. (ii) Americans made 16 trillion 4 in 2012 of which 2.7 trillions they handed over to Gov. i.e. 17% of which ( what about debts raised?) 2.1 trillion were spent on SOCIAL causes i.e. 77%. (iii) Who goes to what school and who goes to what club is a play of idle mind. The likely republican candidate for 2016, Paul Ryan completed his education on scholarships. I never call it a mixed economy, because this is the phrase invented by people who sucked the treasury for bail-outs ! And it s against definition !! Had they handed over sick firms to government to run and had government accepted that, then it could have been mixed economy!!! What this does you know ? It reduces free flow of wealth in some "undeserving" hands and that." jealousy" factor is on the low...means let the bureaucrats enjoy in the name of state. But, I think north western Europe and USA are best economies as regards social perceptions and responses. Yes, other parts of Europe too. but they are not as prosperous as above two. So, If you mean USA being mixed economy is not enough socially mobile - I think it is not mixed economy and even then it is much more socially mobile than so called socialist, mixed economies. since someone raised 1%-99% issue..How long the agitation lasted ? Society wanted some thrill and when it failed to supply that - it faded out. I heard, 99% of the 99% just wanted education loans waived.. and ( as I said above) it was illogical to " occupy wall street" for that. I think I have not insulted sentiments of some poor Americans ( who are obviously not on net) , but there are SEVERELY poor people in other parts of the world. and as for jealousy , almost everyone is jealous above the man just above him on the social ladder.
