When comparing between natural beauty and artificial beauty, one must first ask himself, What is beauty? According to the Little Oxford English Dictionary, beauty is described simply as 'the quality of being very pleasing to the senses'. However, Stendhal, a nineteenth century writer states that beauty is the promise of happiness. Perhaps this is the reason then that human beings, mainly women, are pressured in looking beautiful all the time. This is because beauty happens to be the most gratifying quality of feature for women. The effect it has made on women is astonishing.

Beauty begins with confidence. Confidence begins with inner peace. This inner peace influences natural beauty which is all about the body and face given by God. Among women, natural beauty is merely embellished and enhanced by make up. Make up does not alter the original symmetry of the face or body. Hence, when a woman applies make up, she becomes more confident as she is now more comfortable with herself. In this way, women tend to become less self conscious about themselves.

Artificial beauty occurs when one alters his or her body. It is more commonly known as plastic surgery. Plastic surgery is done to correct a physical abnormality. It can be done to improve both a person''s appearance and ability to function. When plastic surgery is mentioned, our minds automatically picture famous actresses delaying the effects of aging or people who want to change the size of their arms, breasts, noses and so on just because they are discontented with their natural beauty. Little do they know that plastic surgery has both, its advantages and disadvantages.

People who wear tons of make up spend quite a lot of money on it annually. Everything from the mascara, to hair dye, eye liner, lip liner, wigs or hair extensions, wigs, lip stick, eye shadow, blush and the list goes on forever. All of these products burn a deep hole in a person’s pocket. A natural woman or man however, spends barely any money on these products. They generally wake up, wash their face, and might throw on a little lip stick or eye liner. The amount of money they spend for products is minuscule compared to someone who wants to use cosmetics to look their best.

Time is a big factor between a natural and cosmetic man and woman. When you don’t have to put stuff all over your face to look beautiful, getting up and ready for your day is one, two, three. Imagine how long it takes to put that entire collection of make up and face stuff on? It can take a woman over two hours to get ready when they have to do their hair, make up, shower and everything else in the morning or before a date. This puts a nice big damper on being on time or having enough time to go somewhere.

I switched from chemical to mineral---i dont know if mineral is even natural. i wish I didnt have to use foundation.but since I am doing my maters in college I always break out, get scars and look tired.. I now use Sonia Kashuk mineral foundation or physicians formula.both u can get at target.they take more time to put on but they cover my scars and make me feel better not so fake looking.. ill admit my foundation from loreal "true match" or my mary kay liquid foundation makes me look flawless so i use them for special occasions! my face has honestly not been better with breakouts from the mineral but i have seen a difference in the color of my skin,..my skin looks more glowy naturally and when i dont wear makeup after months of mineral.people think i look great! My bf loves it.when i didnt use makeup after months of the chemical based..i looked less glowly and more pale...so this is a reason i switched over and plus i am really scared of these chemicals. since my hair is not absorbed in my skin (i figure) i still use chemicals in it HOWEVER i use less heat and more almond/coconut oil as deep conditioner.and my hair falls out less, looks shinier. i also use almond/apricot/cocnut oil as a moisterizer for my face and THIS is the biggest difference i have seen in my face! I feel so pretty after using this regime long term! overall, I am loving natural.but i think with school I always get more acne! I have noticed with summers off.I never get pimples..(could be diet, lack of sleep, cafine) SO this is the reason I still use chemicals on my face and I knwo it doesnt make it better but it sure as heck covers it up nicer. also.if u have noticed I use inexpensive products.I know there are organic makeup/cover up.which is pricey but i dont have enough self vain/love to buy these for myself.and i want to save money.in the long run i feel these are a better switch but i feel after school is over I can do these and when im older (I am 24, female and of Asian Indian.Punjabi particualrly decent)

Probably way up there I wasn t blessed with beauty, everything I ve accomplished toward being healthy, fit, and beautiful I had to work very very hard at. But sometimes, it comes with a price meaning people judge you just from your physical appearance and don t really give you a chance of showing you your true self because they have their preconcieved judgments.
