Abigail started the witch hunt in The Crucible because she wanted John Proctor for herself, and he was a married man. Abigail wished to possess him so she accused his wife of being a witch. She felt John loved her and not his wife and in order to get him she d need to get rid of the wife so he d be free. If it s an entry from Abigail s point of view, then you probably should be saying something like the wife was no good for him anyhow and how Abigail could make him much happier than she ever could. The wife was no good and Abigail was doing him a favor (she was, after all, wicked and crazy). Hope this helps.

Abigail is a very diverse, secretive character. She is afraid to leave the town because she doesn t want it to seem like she is running away from her sins, but she doesn t like how she is being treated in the town. She is a very static, unchanging character. Though she has several emotions flowing through her, (for her husband, her daughter, the scarlet letter, etc.), she still doesn t really change throughout the book.

Well, Elizabeth was never "REALLY" accused it was her husband John Proctor and he chose to die than lose his name. And in those times pregnant woman would be left alive until they gave birth and then hanged.
