Broadcast media transmit information electronically, via such media as film , radio , recorded music, or television. Digital media comprises both Internet and mobile mass communication. Internet media comprise such services as email , social media sites, websites , and Internet-based radio and television. Many other mass media outlets have an additional presence on the web, by such means as linking to or running TV ads online, or distributing QR Codes in outdoor or print media to direct mobile users to a website. In this way, they can utilise the easy accessibility and outreach capabilities the Internet affords, as thereby easily broadcast information throughout many different regions of the world simultaneously and cost-efficiently. Outdoor media transmit information via such media as AR advertising ; billboards ; blimps ; flying billboards (signs in tow of airplanes); placards or kiosks placed inside and outside of buses, commercial buildings, shops, sports stadiums, subway cars, or trains; signs; or skywriting. [1] Print media transmit information via physical objects, such as books , comics , magazines , newspapers , or pamphlets. [2] Event organizing and public speaking can also be considered forms of mass media. [3]

In the late 20th century, mass media could be classified into eight mass media industries: books, the Internet, magazines, movies, newspapers, radio, recordings, and television. The explosion of digital communication technology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries made prominent the question: what forms of media should be classified as "mass media"? For example, it is controversial whether to include cell phones , computer games (such as MMORPGs ), and video games in the definition. In the 2000s, a classification called the " seven mass media " became popular. [ citation needed ] In order of introduction, they are:

The mass media is a diversified collection of media technologies that reach a large audience via mass communication. The technologies through which this communication takes place include a variety of outlets.

The organizations that control these technologies, such as movie studios, publishing companies, and radio and television stations, are also known as the mass media. [4] [5] [ need quotation to verify ]

When most people watch the evening news they do so thinking that they’re getting an honest and unbiased opinion, but in reality, they are being spoon fed the white house talking points for the day. If all you watch is main stream “news reporting” then you’re not getting the full story, and worse most of the time you’re being fed propaganda, to sway your opinion and to make you think and do what the power holders want you to.

There aren’t numerous US mass media news sources at all; there are just five. Five giant corporations control 90 percent of US mass media. And direct links connect all five of these media conglomerates to the political establishment and the economic and political power-elites of the United States.

Know also this, that, in the last days, shall come dangerous times. Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked, without affection, without peace, slanderers, incontinent, unmerciful, without kindness, Traitors, stubborn, puffed up, and lovers of pleasures more than of God: Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

We already know that almost everything on television will have the most abominable impurities and abominations presented in them so that a parent should be appalled by it and refuse his children to even take part of it, but this, sadly, is not the case for most. You will be amazed at how far this goes. Even children cartoons which one could think was acceptable and modest, is far from acceptable or modest but even many times worse then the general media broadcasted for older viewers, which will be dealt with shortly.

The entire world is progressing towards globalization (sadly), and interacting more than ever with people of other cultures and diverse backgrounds. In order to work with new groups of people, the business (especially communication) field is looking for employees and reps that are well versed and comfortable with people of other cultures due to the frequent interaction with other who may even come from another country. Not only that, but I m assuming you live in the US (could be wrong), but there are a lot of different cultural people already here that you ll maybe work with on a day to day basis.

I don't understand why you only have 3 minutes to feed your class a bunch of untruths and have to assume they won't check things out which would equal them forgetting?

Media bias is the bias or perceived bias of journalists and news producers within the mass media in the selection of events and stories that are reported and how they are covered. The term "media bias" implies a pervasive or widespread bias contravening the standards of journalism , rather than the perspective of an individual journalist or article. The direction and degree of media bias in various countries is widely disputed.

Practical limitations to media neutrality include the inability of journalists to report all available stories and facts, and the requirement that selected facts be linked into a coherent narrative. [1] Government influence, including overt and covert censorship , biases the media in some countries, for example North Korea and Burma. [2] Market forces that result in a biased presentation include the ownership of the news source, concentration of media ownership , the selection of staff , the preferences of an intended audience , and pressure from advertisers.

Without doing your homework for you, Mass media is obviously communication on a large-scale basis and interpersonal communications on a one-on-one or small groups such as small businesses or even larger corporations. Mass media could be viewed as a firehose spraying a large area as opposed to a squirt-gun in spraying interpersonal communication. :>)
