Cover/ address theirs address yours/ cover letter insert/ salutation, dissertation, opening proposal/ body of request, overview/ referrals and possible lenders/ letters stating interest in your venture from possible candidates/ letter of gratitude for time and interest, and your signature, time and date. To keep the document succinct: • Explain your value proposition up front in a conclusionary summary • Use the rest of the document to support your argument • Use bullet points to present lists in support of your argument/proposal • If you use headings, make them a headline, not and indication of what is to come. For instance, if you have section that compares your proposal to alternatives, do not label it "Alternatives", Instead, name the section "_____ reduces processing time by 74%". Then in the text below, explain how. • avoid repeating the same fact twice; consider you audience to be intelligent • Do not write in the passive voice, use active. Example: It has been determined that our approach is 74% more effective than that offered by ____, should be changed to: our process is 74% more effective than ____ s. • Read the document two days after you have written it, and do your edits then. Good luck.
