if i were you, i´d go online, go to yahoo for instance, type in romeo and juliet summaries, it gives you lots of links. i just checked it out. i cant write it all in here. there are lots of summaries , and it gives you some examples of how to start your introduction, etc. just make sure you dont copy it word by word, cuz your teacher will get you for that. i´d read all those summaries, one at a time, and write it in your own words. i know how hard it is to understand shakespeare. i absolutely hated it. thats probably your best bet. read an introduction, understand it, and write it down in your own words. describe lots of scenery , and describe the characters in lots of details, it gives you sentences..

Hi--well one thing you could certainly focus on with Amy Tan is the mother/daughter relationship in her work, or you could also focus on the second generation immigrant experience in her work. The first suggestion is probably easiest, since she often writes about this. As an English teacher I would definitely welcome the introduction of Tan s poems as well as her short stories/novels, as long as you stayed focused on your thesis. (the OWL, or on line writing lab at Perdue University On line, can give you tips on how to focus a thesis). Seriously--don t panic! It seems like a lot but five pages, double-spaced, with maybe one block quote or two, goes by very fast. (p.s. Don t try to use a fancy font or a font over size 12!). best of luck! Ms. L

The word "critical" has positive as well as negative meanings. You can write a critical essay that agrees entirely with the reading. The word "critical" describes your attitude when you read the article. This attitude is best described as "detached evaluation," meaning that you weigh the coherence of the reading, the completeness of its data, and so on, before you accept or reject it.

A critical essay or review begins with an analysis or exposition of the reading, article-by-article, book by book. Each analysis should include the following points:

This type of essay writing is an analysis of a certain reading and basically it is a summary of the point of view presented in this reading and an evaluation of this work. The process of writing a critical essay can become a challenge for any student in case of inappropriate usage of criticism in the paper. Contemporary essay writing requires a deep understanding of the essence of criticism. Criticism does not have the aim of offending or attacking the author and his work but an objective analysis of the text.

A quality critical thinking essay is always written in a serious tone without touching the feelings and emotions of the writer and therefore respecting them. Every statement needs to be supported by quotations. Any critical essay example can either agree or disagree with the work analyzed.
