In this example, I’ve narrowed my argument to the health consequences related to a diet of fast food. I’ve also chosen to focus on Americans rather than everyone in the universe. (Because, as we all know, inhabitants of the faraway planet Doublepatty 5 require the starches and fats inherent in fast food to survive).

2. A good argumentative thesis is centered on a debatable topic.

Back in the ‘80s, teens loved to say “ that’s debatable ” about claims they didn’t agree with (such as “you should clean your room” and “you shouldn’t go to that movie”). This age-old, neon-colored, bangle-wearing, peg-legged wisdom holds true today—in your thesis statement.

An argumentative or persuasive piece of writing must begin with a debatable thesis or claim. In other words, the thesis must be something that people could reasonably have differing opinions on. If your thesis is something that is generally agreed upon or accepted as fact then there is no reason to try to persuade people.

We will assist you on any issue you are interested in and provide you with your academic paper at the highest quality on the instructions given!

Often people, who are coming to ask "write my essay for me" for the first time, are not really aware of how to do this properly and how to avoid the misunderstandings.

Have you ever watched a great film trailer and thought, “I have to see that movie!”? A good trailer gives you the basic premise of the movie, shows you the highlights, and encourages you to want to see more.

A good thesis statement will accomplish the same thing. It gives readers an idea of the most important points of an essay, shows the highlights, and makes them want to read more.

If you answered “yes” and felt the thesis was persuasive, or if you answered “no” but couldn’t explain why the thesis isn’t effective, you need to take time to review the basics of a thesis statement.

If you answered “no” and understand exactly why the above thesis isn’t persuasive, it’s probably a good idea to review thesis statements, anyway.  (After all, a little review never hurt anyone, right?)

A strong thesis statement is key to writing a persuasive essay. The thesis statement presents your topic to the reader, provides your opinion on that topic and summarizes the argument you’ll make in the paper by offering evidence for your opinion. A good thesis statement should capture all of these essential details in just one or two sentences. The thesis statement generally appears after a brief introduction of your topic, often as the last sentence of your first paragraph. The following information will help you write a thesis statement for a persuasive essay.

A strong thesis statement is focused and specific. The reader should know exactly what you’re going to argue and why. “Online education is a great choice for students” is a weak thesis because it’s not specific or focused enough. A stronger thesis would be, “Online classes are a better choice than traditional classroom learning because they’re more flexible for students and teachers, they''''''''re less expensive and they let students works at their own pace.”

your thesis is a statement.. a sentence. that will summarize everything you will talk about in an essay. Think of it as an umbrella. It must somehow cover everything that you talk about.. if you talk about something that is not somehow related to your thesis you are going "off topic". Your thesis must be very rich and informative to provide for a good essay and must be easily distinguishable. Perhaps you have been more familiar with a thesis as your "introductory paragraph". Achieve the purpose of your introductory paragraph in one sentence and you have a thesis. An example of a thesis for a persuasive essay on why Bush is a bad president (this is a made up EXAMPLE, not a true political statement): "Bush is an unstable president who has corrupted america and sent thousands of families into poverty due to his participation in drugs, scandals, and parties; and now he must be impeached." See how rich this statement is? It is long, compound, and comprehensive. I covered many things that i will further go into detail about. The end of the statement ultimately served as my driving point. "he must be impeached". but before i reach that point i will talk about the "drugs, scandals, and parties" and how they have sent thousands of families into poverty. I will also go into detail on how he is unstable and america is now corrupt. I can easily write a factual essay For persuasive essays you must have a thesis that clearly reveals your opinion, or your driving point. This is what you want to convince your reader of (bush is a bad president, he must be impeached) on the issue and the general main facts and evidence that you can use to support it. (drugs, scandals, poverty, parties). From here you can go into more detail by adding more paragraphs to your essay for each fact.

for supporting details in the body of the essay, you can use facts and statistics that support your thesis, specific examples, quotations, and reasons. State your position clearly, answer any possible objections, show clear reasoning, and conclude with a summary of your position or a call to action.

Suppose you are taking a course on 19th-century America, and the instructor hands out the following essay assignment: Compare and contrast the reasons why the North and South fought the Civil War. You turn on the computer and type out the following: The North and South fought the Civil War for many reasons, some of which were the same and some different.
