How does the Proterzoic Era affect us today?

Water pollution, like other types of pollution result when an overwhelming amount of waste comes from different sources of pollutant which harmfully disrupts the balance of the ecosystem; consequently, the waste cannot be destroyed or cleaned up as quickly as produced which results in many disadvantageous to humans and animals, as well as other living organisms.  Therefore individuals have to realize that water pollutants can lead to long term effects and sometimes death due to the water pollution.  The source of the pollutant can end but the long term effects for animal, humans and plant life can last years and even centuries, sometime totally destroying a species.  All humans and animals as well as some organisms depend on water to survive. Each person must do everything possible to keep our water clean and available.  In most cases the water becomes unusable because of oil, chemical waste, sewage, waste water and plastics.

Oil and chemical waste are two major sources of pollution and hazards waste.  Petroleum products are one of the most toxic substances to the ecosystem.  Oil and chemical waste comes to the water usually by accidental spills from ships, tankers, pipelines, and leaking underground storage tanks. There is no doubt that oil and chemical products are poisonous to the inhabitants of the seas, lakes, oceans, or water storage sites.  The worst disaster which the American people and all the other countries can have witness to is happening at this very time.  It has been declared the worse disaster to hit the world and is the leaking of more than 176 million gallons of oil in the gulf of Mexico.  (Brian Smith) This is not also the worst case disaster but also the most expensive one which will go on for years and continue to cost billions of dollars.

Pollution is a bane for society or life. All sorts of pollutions like air pollution, water pollution, sound pollution, noise pollution, food pollution have been affecting greatly the dwellers.

Air is one of the most important elements of our environment for our survival. It is a natural gift and a free asset. It is polluted in many ways. Land vehicles use oil and fuel which create smoke. The smoke gets mixed with air and thus pollutes air. Mills, factories and industries are also held responsible for air pollution because they create smoke. Polluted air contains CO 2 , CO, NO 2 , SMP, SO 2 and oxides of lead. Excessive rise of gases and chemical pollute air. People are to breathe and inhale polluted air in most cases.

The world population is living, working, vacationing, increasingly conglomerating along the coasts, and standing on the front row of the greatest, most unprecedented, plastic waste tide ever faced.

Washed out on our coasts in obvious and clearly visible form, the plastic pollution spectacle blatantly unveiling on our beaches is only the prelude of the greater story that unfolded further away in the world’s oceans, yet mostly originating from where we stand: the land.

Purifying water may reduce the concentration of particulate matter including suspended particles , parasites , bacteria , algae , viruses , fungi , as well as reducing the amount of a range of dissolved and particulate material derived from the surfaces that come from runoff due to rain.

The standards for drinking water quality are typically set by governments or by international standards. These standards usually include minimum and maximum concentrations of contaminants, depending on the intended purpose of water use.

Yes. In a way. There are some happy people who are not healthy and healthy people who are not happy. It depends on the person.

As sociology is the study of human behavioural interactions, there is a great deal of connection between this social science and topics within the health and social care field. How society and social forces affect the health of individuals is a pertinent topic for study for those students who wish to pursue a career in health and social care.

This perspective is an early version of sociology, looking at the social structure as a whole and how it functions. Functionalism linked sociology with biology (Giddens, 1987) in an attempt to make what had been philosophical theory more scientific. Therefore, as with biological organisms comprising of cells and systems, in functionalism the society is built on individuals and organisations, families and communities. Inequalities in society are seen as helpful to the society as they maintain the system and ensure the smooth running of societies.

Air pollution inside our homes can cause anything from asthma to severe allergies. Buy a home air purifer with a Truman filter. Oreck makes a good one if you are really concerned about the air your breath. When you rinse out the filter in a shallow container and see how dirty the water is then you will see beyond a shadow of a doubt how filthy the air is that we breath. So you can imagine what we re breathing in outside with all the car emissions etc. I would think that many years of breathing in filthy air would, yes, cause upper respiratory problems, asthma, more and more children and adults are suffering with ashthma. So air pollution is most definitely affecting our health. Even though our lungs are self-cleaning and can filter out harmful air, lungs can only do so much. Pretty scarey to think what we breathe into our lungs on a daily basis. Every state has to work with their EPA to try to resolve the dirty air we breathe.
