Developing a Topic Sentence Now that you have an outline and a thesis statement, it's time to work on the topic sentences for your supporting paragraphs. Remember we said that a thesis statement governs an essay and that the topic sentences of the supporting paragraphs need to relate to it. The idea is the same for topic sentences because supporting sentences need to relate to the topic sentence. Let's start by putting our topics in a reasonable order. Our second paragraph should talk about the accident. Therefore, we need a topic sentence that relates directly to the accident. This topic sentence will let the reader know that paragraph two will give details about the accident. Look at the topic sentence below:

It was snowing and the roads were very icy the morning I was driving to school.

The topic sentence above prepares the reader for more information about the conditions causing the accident. What we need now are supporting sentences to give more information about how the accident happened.

Causes: 1. Weather is not good. If youre driving in a foggy place with zero visibility the odd of getting an accident is high. If it is raining and you are driving the road is slippery and not all drivers know it. 2. Education. Not all drivers are educated drivers. Proper identification of traffic signal is not followed and the right way of parking and overtaking other drivers is not being practiced. 3. Poor Car Maintenance. Most drivers have no knowledge about the maintenance of their cars, when to change break pads and to visit your mechanic. 4. Physical Condition of the Driver. Drivers must be physically fit to drive. Effects 1. Damage to properties and much more, lost of life. 2. Psychological effect to the person involved.

The introduction should start with a general discussion of your subject and lead to a very specific statement of your main point, or thesis. Sometimes an essay begins with a "grabber," such as a challenging claim, or surprising story to catch a reader''''''''''''''''s attention. The thesis should tell in one (or at most two) sentence(s), what your overall point or argument is, and briefly, what your main body paragraphs will be about.

For example, in an essay about the importance of airbags in cars, the introduction might start with some information about car accidents and survival rates. It might also have a grabber about someone who survived a terrible accident because of an airbag. The thesis would briefly state the main reasons for recommending airbags, and each reason would be discussed in the main body of the essay.

Risk is the potential of gaining or losing something of value. [1] Values (such as physical health , social status , emotional well-being or financial wealth) can be gained or lost when taking risk resulting from a given action or inaction, foreseen or unforeseen. Risk can also be defined as the intentional interaction with uncertainty. [2] Uncertainty is a potential, unpredictable, and uncontrollable outcome; risk is a consequence of action taken in spite of uncertainty. [3]

Risk perception is the subjective judgment people make about the severity and probability of a risk, and may vary person to person. Any human endeavor carries some risk, but some are much riskier than others. [4]

On 5 July 2012, the Fukushima Nuclear Accident Independent Investigation Commission (NAIIC) found that the causes of the accident had been foreseeable, and that the plant operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), had failed to meet basic safety requirements such as risk assessment, preparing for containing collateral damage, and developing evacuation plans. On 12 October 2012, TEPCO admitted for the first time that it had failed to take necessary measures for fear of inviting lawsuits or protests against its nuclear plants. [7] [8] [9] [10]

In February 2017, TEPCO released images taken inside reactor 2 by a remote-controlled camera, that show there is a 2-meter hole in the metal grating under the pressure vessel in the reactor’s primary containment vessel, [22] which could have been caused by fuel escaping the pressure vessel. Radiation levels of about 650 sieverts per hour have been detected in the containment vessel of reactor No. 2.

I m not a physician but have been treated for EL and had an operation last year to remove the excess cells from the Thoracic section of my spine. I have read online of 2 cases where EL appeared after some trauma to the back or neck. In my case, I fell several years ago and injured the cervical section of my spine. Several months later I started developing numbness in my legs and feet which progressed over several more months to the point where walking became difficult and my balance was effected. I do believe there is a correlation between an injury to the spine and EL. I do not fit into the "Normal" categories for developing EL (no steroid use and obesity) and my Neurosurgery team can t explain how I developed this disease. It seems to me that it s almost like the body is responding to the injury by producing more of a protective layer of fat cells. Good luck with your treatment.
