The best sources of interesting ideas come from your own life, or the lives of others around you. You can use poetic justice to make a good memory a great story, just change the names, dates and places in case anyone you know would read it. Think about what you think is interesting, not what you think others want. That is true secret to creative writing. Write it in a way that makes sense to you, then proof it for grammar and structure. Pay attention to spelling; it does make a lot of difference in the real world. Good luck.

Here s one about Dean: There are very, very few T.V characters you sort of connect with almost instantaneously. Dean Winchester is one of those characters. Everything he does is just so real, so pure. Dean cries and I find my eyes watering, he laughs and I start smiling like a fool; he just portrays each emotion so perfectly. Something I really love about Dean is that he isn’t very good at expressing his true emotions, he may be broken, crying for help but he’s always got the ‘game-face’ on. I adore Sam, I really do, but Dean is one character I just love more than any other. And, I really don’t want Dean to change, I don’t want him to be all over-emotional and expressive, because the moments when his cool, ‘game-face’ dissolves into tears or breaks into a laugh are truly phenomenal.

I WAS CONVINCED when I was a youth that the most boring meeting in the Church, perhaps in the world, was a quarterly stake conference. In those days, they were held every three months and included at least two, two-hour sessions on Sunday. The most interesting highlights to us children were the quavery songs literally “rendered” by the “Singing Mothers” and the sober sustaining of the stake No Liquor-Tobacco Committee.

So, as we know it in human terms, the “gospel” is not—and perhaps, given the paradoxical nature of the universe itself, cannot ever be—a simple and clear set of unequivocal propositions.

I am happy to release my new book: The Inevitable. It is about the deep trends in the next 20 years that will shape your life. I suggest we embrace these changes, including ubiquitous tracking, accessible artificial intelligence, constant sharing, getting paid to watch ads, VR in your home, etc. I am very excited by the book; I’ve been told it is my most readable work yet.

Two years ago I published my first fiction,  The Silver Cord. I’ve been working on it for 11 years! At 464 oversized pages, this huge book was fan-funded, the result of a successful Kickstarter-funded campaign. It is now available on Amazon. The Silver Cord contains two volumes of an epic story about angels and robots and a girl hero who must save the humans in between. The craftsmanship of the printing, including a 6-page fold out, is stunning. It has to be seen to be believed. If you like the graphic novel let me know, and we’ll do the next story.

Such is the threshold between a private affair and a public scandal: one person speaks. These are also the opening lines to “The Threat to the Next America,” which appears in the April 1953 issue of House Beautiful. Penned by editor Elizabeth Gordon, the article describes an unnamed, but “highly intelligent, now disillusioned, woman who spent more than $70,000 building a 1-room house that is nothing but a glass cage on stilts.”[1] Gordon warns readers of a design movement sweeping the nation:

Something is rotten in the state of design—and it is spoiling some of our best efforts in modern living. After watching it for several years, after meeting it with silence, House Beautiful has decided to speak out and appeal to your common sense, because it is common sense that is mostly under attack. Two ways of life stretch before us. One leads to the richness of variety, to comfort and beauty. The other, the one we want fully to expose to you, retreats to poverty and unlivability. Worst of all, it contains the threat of cultural dictatorship.[2]
