‘I know this messenger, guard,’ said Mr. Lorry, getting down into the road—assisted from behind more swiftly than politely by the other two passengers, who immediately scrambled into the coach, shut the door, and pulled up the window. ‘He may come close; there’s nothing wrong.’

‘Come on at a footpace! d’ye mind me? And if you’ve got holsters to that saddle o’ yourn, don’t let me see your hand go nigh ‘em. For I’m a devil at a quick mistake, and when I make one it takes the form of Lead. So now let’s look at you.’

This makes no sense to me?! I understand that you are complaining about something?? Is it something to do with the price of e-books ! Or is it something to do with the price of items marked as 95% off?? Or the price of X-boxes?? Your question is just plain confusing? But I agree with you, in as much as I think it is bad to rip people off! Particularly if they are dumb enough to fall for scams. If a person is that dumb they should be pitied and not taken advantage of!

Hi there. Free eBooks are terrific as promotional tools for printed books but they still haven t become commercially viable as standalone products. Even though my books are available in both eBook and print, most people still prefer a book they can hold in their hands. There s also the problem of dedicated eBook readers--which exist, but are usually limited to a specific format or formats. None of the reader devices read ALL formats. I use demo eBook versions to give readers the opportunity to read the first 4 to 10 chapters of my books so they don t have to spend any money to find out if the book is right for them. That doesn t cost me anything and readers are able to download the demo right away and read it. Then, if they like it, there is a link in the demo to order the full print or eBook version. Cool huh? If any of you would like to read a demo of my newest medieval fantasy epic, THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY, just email me at [email protected] and I ll send it right away. That s my two cents worth. Good luck, whatever you decide to read. Jon F. Baxley (Author, Editor, Ghostwriter and Proofreader) THE SCYTHIAN STONE (eBook only) THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY (eBook and hard cover) THE REGENTS OF RHUM (coming fall 07) (For a FREE copy of my four chapter illustrated demo of The Blackgloom Bounty, email me at [email protected]). Our booked passenger showed in a moment that it was his name. The guard, the coachman, and the two other passengers eyed him distrustfully.

‘Keep where you are,’ the guard called to the voice in the mist, ‘because, if I should make a mistake, it could never be set right in your lifetime. Gentleman of the name of Lorry answer straight.’
